I started my "career" as a drummer
in some various bands in my hometown Skanör in the very
south of Sweden. Influenced by an extremely wide range of
bands; Bob Marley, AC-DC, Queen, The Police, Kraftwerk and
Van Halen ?!?!!!?? After singing backup behind the drums on
numerous livegigs I wanted to start singing instead, I was
pretty much looking to be in the spotlight too ;-)........
After moving in to Malmoe in the 80ies, me and
a friend started some various projects, made demos with session
musicians, and sent out to record companies. Of course we
got "NO" from everybody.... even a "close but
no cigarr" letter from from a major company. In the meantime
I was working (I even got paid!!!!) as a lead actor for 3
years in two major operas converted to musicals; CARMEN ('87-'88)
and THE BAT ('89). We got raving reviews and my future as
an actor didn't look too bad....... THOUGH I was a rocker
and would rather be a ROCKSTAR !!!!!!! I, of course, went
to the States and "found inspiration" in LA, as
everybody else in those days, and ALMOST landed a deal with
ATLANTIC RECORDS..........;-( It didn't work out so we formed
a new band called THE DOWNTOWN CLOWNS and released it in Sweden
by ourselves with a little help from XTC PRODUCTIONS and a
BIG help from.......... Theo at RoastingHouse !!! Me and Theo
became good friends and in '94 gave me a chanse to work here
without knowing ANYTHING about the business, but with a little
common sense and a BIG interest and A LOT of hours behind
the desk ...... you learn a lot !!! Now I'm fortunate to work
with extremely talented musicians and experienced enough to
work with great people at record companies around the whole
world. Keep the faith !!!
